From Monday 23rd March we face a very different educational landscape of uncertain duration.
Schools are that in name only now. Those children that have to attend will be vulnerable children and those whose parents are keyworkers. Even then, if at all possible, children should be kept home.
There is no expectation that we teach a curriculum, we now exist to facilitate critical working across the country and keep vulnerable children safe.
Our teachers are very conscientious and will put on the best range of activities they can, but they are not expected to teach the curriculum, or even lessons per se. This is inline with government policy and parents need to temper their expectations accordingly. Never-the-less, we will do what we can and give those children who attend the best possible experience.
For those children at home, there is material on the website that does match to the curriculum. This will be updated weekly by class teachers and should provide a variety of tasks. There is no expectation that any of this work is submitted or marked.
Thank you to all of you for your support. It is my sincere wish that we are able to come together again before the next academic year starts, but there is, of course, no certainty at the moment.
Best wishes, stay well.
