There has been significant changes in the authorisation of term-time holidays - a government regulation that allowed Headteachers to grant leave of absence for the purpose of a family holiday during term time in ‘exceptional circumstances' has now been removed.
Headteachers are no longer allowed to grant leave except in very exceptional circumstances.
There is no guidance on these exceptional circumstances, but we believe they will be very unusual one-off situations, not repeated each year.
Any leave that is then taken without permission will be deemed unauthorised and will be recorded on the children’s record.
